“Forest Management Socialization.
There are still many people who do not understand how forests are managed in a sustainable manner, it is necessary to socialize the use of forests to the national and international level.
WWF took the initiative to receive a visit from a student from the Stockholm school of economics, Sweden to see post harvest what the actual condition of the forest used for timber (timber extraction) is and what effect it has on the environment and the social life of the surrounding local community.
During this visit, students were directly involved in planting trees and nurseries, visiting logged-over locations and tourist attractions that could be explored, such as canoeing fishing activities, looking for shell, communities catching crabs and shrimps and fishing.
The results of interviews with female students, they do not feel that they are in a forest concession where timber is being used because the environmental conditions are still relatively good and the logged-over area has been overgrown by new regeneration.
The bad image of concessions that use wood so far can only be said because they do not know the exact conditions in the field, only read and watch news from the media which are often not reported in full.
Thank you WWF and IDH.
